Community Assessment

At the request of the Town of Winthrop, a resource team from the Washington Rural Development Council performed a Community Assessment for the Town of Winthrop during early March of 2005. The process included over 100 citizens from within and around Winthrop giving their input in 17 different listening sessions. At each listening session, participants were asked to respond to the three following questions: What are Winthrop’s problems and challenges? What are Winthrop’s strengths and assets? And what projects would they like to see completed in Winthrop in the next two, five, ten, and twenty years? The four-person resource team took the comments and discussion generated in these listening sessions and compiled them into a Community Assessment Report for the Town of Winthrop. The complete report can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
